Kodak Mini 2 Retro vs Kodak Mini 3 Retro Review: Pros and Cons
The portable photo printer helps you to print any image into a photo that you can enjoy with other people. For that reason, we have a review that will help you to find the better product between Kodak Mini 2 Retro vs Kodak Mini 3 Retro. Let’s start the review!
Kodak Mini 2 Retro Review
As a mini photo printer, we see this product has a high portability design, which makes it suitable for traveling or home usage. Its compact size fits with your pocket or bags, so you can easily bring it anywhere you want it. Even though this product has a compact size, we found that the feature is also satisfying.
One of our favorite features is the 4Pass Technology, which affects the photo printing quality. This technology creates a unique layer of ribbon color, which creates higher detailed photos in photo paper. Moreover, it also can automatically laminate the photo to protect the image from fingerprints and even water, which expands its lifespan.
Another unique feature we also like is the printing mode for two photo modes. With KODAK Mini 2 Retro, you can print the borderless photo or add some border to it. You can adjust and choose this mode by using the application that comes with it.
Unfortunately, the application made by KODAK is not that satisfying. The interface design is complicated and sometimes confusing. If you are a beginner, there is a big chance that you will have a problem using the application for simply printing a photo.

Kodak Mini 2 Retro Pros & Cons
- 4Pass Technology for a higher detailed photo,
- Automatic laminating feature to protect the photo image,
- Two photo modes, the border, and borderless photo,
- Compact size, suitable for pocket and bag.
- Confusing photo application interface design,
- Cartridge sometimes doesn’t work properly.
Kodak Mini 3 Retro Review
KODAK Mini 3 Retro is practically the twin brother of the Mini 2 Retro that we mentioned above. It has similar features and capability as a compact and portable printer for a photo. The only difference that we found is the size, where the Mini 3 Retro has a bit bigger and more square-ish shape than the Mini 2 Retro.
This product also uses 4PASS Technology, which creates a higher photo quality than the standard portable photo printer. It also uses the same laminating feature, which for us is one of the helpful features to preserve the photo against time.
With the claim from KODAK that the photo with this laminating effect can last for 100 years, we think that this feature is the main selling point of this product that KODAK tries to offer to the customer.
Kodak Mini 3 Retro also uses Bluetooth, which makes printing directly from your device become much simpler. Of course, you should use the app for that, which is the same app with interface design problems as we mentioned in the Mini 2 Retro review. Furthermore, Mini 3 Retro has a worse cartridge problem, plus printing paper jamming and a blank printing problem.
